What do you love about drama? I mean besides the fact that it’s SO MUCH FUN? My greatest passion is for the theatre, particularly youth and children’s theatre. Through my training and work experience, I have come to believe that the theatre environment is one that teaches young people how to build strong friendships and professional relationships. I believe that youth who have the opportunity to participate in positive theatre experiences, will also learn diligence, gain self-confidence, and most importantly, become aware of their own creative talents, which will aid them in finding their own career path. In short – drama is life changing.

Where did you grow up?
Born in Sydney, raised in Brissie! I’ve spent the last few years studying in Canberra, but have returned to the stomping grounds and am in the process of re-discovering my home, and everything that’s changed with it!
Did you study acting or theatre at uni or school?
An unapologetic drama nerd at heart, my appearance in one of my high-school’s annual theatrical productions was as guaranteed as two plus two equalling four. I studied drama throughout school, starring in and producing shows every year all the way into university – I have yet to give it up! I spent two years as a Workshop Artist for Canberra Youth Theatre down in the capital, working with artists from as young as Grade 1, all the way up to Grade 9, to acquire and develop their dramatic repertoires, and create their own original works. An alumni of shake & stir’s Greenroom program and a longtime admirer of the company, I am beyond thrilled to now be working with the primary school team to introduce and welcome back students across Brisbane to the fantastical world of drama!
What do you love about drama? How much there is to learn! Constantly working with new people, in new, unfamiliar or challenging environments, teaches you a myriad of lessons in teamwork, communication and creative thinking. As importantly, drama can be pivotal in emotional development; acting is the art of placing yourself in another person’s shoes, and seeing the world from their perspective – this is an invaluable capacity to have in our society.
