Shake & Stir, one of Australia’s leading touring theatre companies, is holding auditions for its 2027 In-Schools touring seasons.

Shake & Stir offers a vibrant, welcoming, fast-paced, and rewarding work environment. This role is perfect for talented young performers of all genders and backgrounds who are passionate about performing for primary and secondary audiences across Shakespeare, Roald Dahl, and more.

This role offers the chance to develop as both a performer and facilitator whilst gaining valuable insight from industry professionals in both the arts and education sectors.

Auditions will be used to cast January 2027 – November 2027 In-Schools touring with contracts up to 12 months. 

Experience/relevant actor training is highly desired but sheer talent and a great attitude trumps all.

Please note that these are not general auditions and not all applicants will be guaranteed a timeslot. 

Applicants will need to prepare one Shakespeare piece (1 min, own choice) and one contemporary monologue (1 min, own choice). Pieces should be contrasting and demonstrate your dramatic range and skills. Shake & Stir looks for actors with fantastic physicality, great vocal skills, contagious enthusiasm, and endless energy and drive. Easy, right?

All applicants must be 18+ years old and possess a current QLD Working with Children (Blue) Card and a QLD full driver license, with a good driving history.

A note on MainStage casting and National Touring auditions: Shake & Stir receives many enquiries about auditions for MainStage productions and National Touring. While these auditions are usually by invitation only, performers auditioning for In-School touring who show talent and potential may be considered for future MainStage and National Touring.
