Shake & Stir, one of Australia’s leading contemporary touring theatre companies, is holding auditions for its 2024 QLD in-school touring seasons.

Shake & Stir provides a professional, dynamic, fast-paced, inclusive and rewarding work environment and this position is a fantastic opportunity for talented young performers of any gender and from all ethnic backgrounds with a passion for Shakespeare and a keen interest in performing for young people.
Auditions will be used to cast January 2024 – November 2024 in-schools touring with contract lengths ranging 2 months to 12 months. Experience/relevant actor training is highly desired but sheer talent a great attitude trumps all.

You will be contacted should the Artistic Directors wish to see you for an audition. If you have auditioned for shake & stir in the last 24 months, there is no need to re-apply for another audition, you will be automatically considered.
Please note that these are not general auditions and not all applicants will be asked to audition.

Applicants need to prepare one Shakespeare piece (1 min, own choice) and one contemporary monologue (1 min, own choice). Pieces should be contrasting and demonstrate your dramatic range and skills. shake & stir looks for actors with fantastic physicality, great vocal skills, contagious enthusiasm and endless energy and drive. Easy!
All applicants must be 18+ years old and possess a current QLD Working with Children (Blue) Card and a QLD drivers license, with a good driving history.

Primary Drama Instructors
Shake & Stir Theatre Co is looking for enthusiastic, passionate drama instructors to join the team.
Since 2006, Shake & Stir has been facilitating after-school drama classes for thousands of primary students across many locations across SEQLD. In 2023, the program is expanding and the company is currently seeking expressions of interest from those wanting to join this team.
If you are a punctual, energetic team player who enjoys working with children and keen to promote a positive, inclusive, creative and friendly atmosphere for primary students - then this could be for you. A passion for the performing arts is also essential, as it will be you who will help inspire the next generation of performers!
REQUIRED: 18+ years of age, a driver's license, mode of transport and a Working with Children, Blue Card (or eligibility to apply for one)
PROVIDED: training, complete lesson plans, class materials and resources and full management support.
