A CHRISTMAS CAROL
16 – 24 DEC 2020
By Charles Dickens
Adapted and created by shake & stir theatre co
This December, the award-winning stage spectacle – Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol returns to lift your spirits. Brimful of song, humour, love and lashings of festive joy, A Christmas Carol is a magical, grand-in-scale production – perfect for the entire family.
It’s Christmas Eve and Ebenezer Scrooge is counting down the seconds until the silliness of the season passes. Deeply entrenched in his own misery, Scrooge receives a visit from four ghosts who whisk him away on a journey through Christmases past, present and future. Here, he revisits fragments of his life and is faced with a number of choices. Redemption is his for the taking – but is Old Scrooge capable of changing his ways before it’s too late?
Complete with live music, yule-tide carolling, innovative video design, lavish costumes and, of course, snow, A Christmas Carol, is quite simply, the most uplifting theatrical experience you’ll have this year (The Courier Mail).
In the interests of keeping the audience safe and healthy, capacity is limited and all seating complies with social distancing. Suitable for ages eight and over.
Reflect upon your present blessings—of which every man has many—not on your past misfortunes, of which all men have some. Charles Dickens

It’s not only a compassionate take on the timeless tale, and performed with ease and extra sparkle by a stunning cast, but it’s truly visually spectacular. It’s not overstating the fact to say that the combination of visual elements surpasses anything we’ve seen before.”
“The most uplifting theatrical experience you’ll have this year. Now I want to see it again. And again.”
“Wow. I don’t think I’ve managed to pick my jaw up off of the floor since last night and I certainly don’t have enough words to describe how phenomenal this piece of live theatre is. Everything is so fantastic, I don’t know where to begin…. ★★★★★ As a theatre critic, I get invited to a see a surplus amount of shows but I can honestly say that this is the best show I’ve seen all year.”
A must-see performance… Despite knowing the ending before taking our seats, we were left hanging on to every word, jumping high out of our chairs at every creak and mesmorised by the live musicians and yule-tide carolling. Lavish costumes traversed time, conceiving a neo-Victorian, gothic setting bringing ghosts, ghouls and characters into one world of storytelling. The set design provided a visual feast, complemented by a new atmospheric composition from composer, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Salliana Campbell.”
“shake & stir’s adaptations of classic literature are all superb.”
