Regional & Remote
#Welcome to R&R
Thousands of stories. Endless possibilities. One belief: the arts are for everyone.
Great arts experiences shouldn’t depend on where you live.
We believe every young person deserves the chance to experience the arts. In fact, access to arts and culture is recognised as a fundamental right under the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. Yet for many young Queenslanders, opportunities to experience professional arts and engage with working artists can be few and far between.
Creativity knows no postcode.
Enter the Regional & Remote Schools Touring Program - an initiative of the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland.
Shake & Stir is currently serving as the provider of R&R, bringing professional artists directly into schools and communities across Queensland. Working closely with educators, we deliver high-quality performances and creative experiences that inspire imagination, build confidence and encourage participation.
And while students are at the heart of everything we do, we know the value of the arts extends well beyond the classroom. We strive to support the incredible work teachers are already doing and create opportunities for families to share in their children’s creativity.
We also understand that what works in one school won’t necessarily work in another. We take the time to listen, collaborate with teachers and shape experiences that feel relevant, exciting and worthwhile. We go where the students are. Because every child deserves the chance to experience, participate in and create art, regardless of their postcode.
