Teacher PD [R&R]
#2026
Shake & Stir Teacher Professional Developments
In 2026, Shake & Stir is proud to continue supporting Queensland teachers with a diverse range of Professional Development (PD) opportunities designed to strengthen creative education across the arts.
Professional Development opportunities will be offered in metro and regional areas across the state, linked to Queensland Curriculum units of work and ACARA, across multiple art forms. These workshops will also address broader arts practice, including wellbeing, inclusivity, and creative confidence in the classroom.
Drama PD
A range of Drama PD will be available for teachers at all levels. These sessions focus on dynamic drama pedagogy, script work, improvisation, devising, and practical performance strategies ready for classroom use.
Dance PD
Dance PD will support educators to explore movement, choreography, and performance in ways that connect directly to curriculum outcomes. Sessions include practical tools for engaging students in expressive and creative dance tasks.
Media Arts PD
Media Arts PD will explore filmmaking, digital storytelling, and multimedia creation. Teachers will learn accessible approaches to guiding students through creative media projects, building visual literacy and confidence.
Full-School PD
Schools may book a tailored full-school PD, where a specialist works with the entire staff. These sessions aim to foster collaboration and build a whole-school approach to creative arts learning.
Custom PDs by Request
Schools are welcome to request customised PD options tailored specifically to their needs. We work closely with teachers to design sessions aligned with unit plans, school goals, and local contexts.
Statewide Availability
PD opportunities will be offered across Queensland in 2026, ensuring as many schools and communities as possible have access to meaningful, practical arts development.
Our full 2026 PD program will be released shortly.
In the meantime, we encourage teachers to reach out if you are interested in any of the above areas - or if there is a specific workshop or artform offering you would like to see in your region next year.

R&R is the Regional & Remote Schools Touring Service, an initiative of the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland within the Department of Education.
