QLab Intensive #1: Intro & Foundations
Professional Development
This hands-on QLab intensive introduces participants to the fundamentals of show control and digital cueing for performance. Across two practical sessions, participants will build confidence using QLab to design and run simple through to more complex multimedia shows.
Participants must bring a Mac to use.
Session 1 – Introduction & Foundations (3 hrs)
Participants will be introduced to QLab and its core functions, exploring how it is used across theatre, live performance, events, and installations.
This session focuses on building foundational skills, including:
Understanding the QLab workspace and key tools
Creating and organising cues
Working with Audio cues
Using Groups and Fade cues
Building and running a simple show
By the end of the session, participants will have created a basic QLab file and understand the workflow for programming and playback.
