Storytelling for Impact - Teaching Media Arts with Purpose
Teacher Professional Development
Led by filmmaker and media arts educator Kate Boylan-Ascione, this professional development session supports teachers to deliver purposeful Media Arts learning grounded in real-world storytelling practice.
Drawing on her experience in documentary and social impact filmmaking, Kate shares practical, classroom-ready strategies, with Storytelling for Impact: Teaching Media Arts with Purpose equipping teachers across Media Arts, English, Humanities, and The Arts to facilitate student-led storytelling using accessible technologies, build confidence in media production, nurture creative voice and empathy, and strengthen connections between curriculum learning, real-world issues, and creative industry pathways.
