Venture Program
By request from Immigrants Daughter
Immigrants Daughter offers trauma-informed, culturally safe theatre-based workshops that are thoughtfully designed to meet the unique needs of students adapting to life in Australia, from immigrant, refugee, or marginalised communities.
These workshops use the power of creative arts to help participants navigate the complex challenges of identity, belonging, language and cultural adjustment. By creating a safe, supportive environment, the sessions promote emotional resilience, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Founded by award-winning actor Shideh Faramand, Immigrants Daughter is supported by a team of professionals from various backgrounds, including education, youth work, theatre and drama, and child and family practitioners. The program empowers individuals to build confidence, explore personal experiences, and strengthen their sense of community. Their recent work at Harristown State High School demonstrates their success in fostering personal growth and a deep sense of belonging through theatre-based activities.
Workshops can be tailored to meet the specific needs of schools and community groups, ranging from one-off engagements on arts days to extended programs across a full term or semester.
