Bulkaway Muruku

Yarn Together

Bulkaway Muruku is a culturally rich, place-based storytelling program designed specifically for early learning environments. Bringing First Nations stories, songs, and traditions to life, connecting children with the voices of elders and artists through engaging and interactive sessions. Delivered by a team of artists and cultural practitioners, Bulkaway Muruku offers a warm, welcoming space for children to explore First Nations perspectives through stories, music, and creative play.

Each session is tailored, blending traditional storytelling with fun, hands-on activities that encourage creativity and curiosity. Children participate in yarning, singing, and simple arts and crafts inspired by First Nations culture. The sessions align with the Queensland Early Years Learning Framework, providing educators with a culturally enriching and age-appropriate program.

Bulkaway Muruku is a flexible program, adapting to the needs of early childhood centres, kindergartens, and daycares. The program also supports educators with professional development opportunities, empowering them to create their own culturally safe and engaging storytelling spaces for young children.
